[2021 Recap] Bloom:: An Event for New and Expecting Moms

0

Our 1st annual Bloom:: An Event for New and Expecting Moms was hosted on June 27th, 2021 at the Auburn Marriott Opelika Resort and Spa at Grand National. We were THRILLED to offer this event as it is very unique to our area.

Bloom was geared towards moms, dads, and grandparents who are planning to grow their family, currently expecting, in a new stage of motherhood, or fostering/adopting little ones. Through a combination of informational panels, giveaways, workshops, pampering and more, mothers were celebrated and encouraged.

A special thank you goes out to our presenting sponsor, East Alabama Health, other sponsors, vendors, and of course to the A-O Moms Events Team — without each of you, this event wouldn’t have been such a success!

Non-Profit Partners

We are passionate about giving back to our community and we were honored to be working with Tiger Babies and Baby Steps at Auburn University. Thank you to all who donated at Bloom:: An Event for New and Expecting Moms.

Tiger Babies Breastfeeding Support Tent is a community outreach project that provides mothers with a clean and private place to nurse their babies. With Tiger Babies, Auburn nursing students also gain valuable experience as they volunteer and assist mothers and their babies, giving back to the community and offering breastfeeding support.

Baby Steps at Auburn University – While many universities offer medical resources, the support usually dissolves after childbirth, leaving women unsure about what to do once their baby is born. Few universities offer a home of support and empowerment for women both during pregnancy and after their child is born. Baby Steps will fill a need that is currently not being met in our college communities across the country by providing a stable home environment for pregnant and parenting women who will be surrounded by a loving, supportive community. The resources offered by Baby Steps will include those for maternal and infant support as well as courses about motherhood, child development, childbirth, nutrition, and many other areas. Baby Steps provides a positive influence and instills confidence in the women’s abilities to be successful mothers, students, and ultimately–professionals.
