Covid Hair No More… the Salon and Spa at the Grand National

0

I’m slightly embarrassed to say it but the last time I got a haircut was before my daughter, Emily was born…And she’s now 18 months old.

Is that bad or is that bad?

I’ll just hide over here inside my house.

Sure, I could blame it on Covid. Sure, I could blame it on social distancing. Sure, I could blame it on being busy, and I can easily blame it on my little people who keep me busy.

But, the truth is that this mama has a hard time making time for herself.

Getting your haircut is important hygiene, and I’ve failed to keep up with it. But, instead of beating myself up for it, I took action.

It was time. It was time for a haircut.

Plus, my husband suggested that I needed a haircut, not because he didn’t like my long hair (he LOVES my long hair) and not because the ends of my hair were looking nasty.

He wanted me to get a haircut because he was tired of me getting mad at him for pulling my hair when he rolled onto it in the middle of the night.

Okay. Noted. It’s time. Haircut it is.

If you haven’t been to the salon at the Spa at Grand National, you’re simply missing out.

(If you’re like me, you didn’t even know it existed.)

Thanks to the lovely Mothers Day event put on by AO Moms, I learned that the Spa at Grand National does, indeed, have a salon, and when it came time to finally pick up the phone and make an appointment, I knew just who to call.

To be honest, I found that the prices of services at the Spa salon were extremely comparable to other salons around town that I had tried and wasn’t happy with. But more importantly, the feeling alone that I got from being a valued customer is what will keep me going back.

The receptionist who booked my appointment was as nice as can be, and I felt cherished, valued, and worthy for taking the time for myself to get a dang haircut.

KB, the stylist, was wonderful and pleasant, and of course, we got carried away in conversation. She did an amazing job giving me a fresh look and wouldn’t stop until it was exactly how I wanted it.

And the venue, well, it was gorgeous and a nice getaway for some much needed hair TLC.

I’ll of course be going back but I won’t wait so long the next time around. I know exactly who to call.

If you’re like me and have neglected your hair during Covid or just need a little pampering, check out the Spa at the Grand National. The salon is a hidden gem that I’m so glad I found.
