Locally Sourced Easter Baskets

We all know we are living in weird times. Yet even in the weirdness, it has been incredible to see the goodness of others shine through. When I feel overwhelmed with all of the things I can’t do (so many things) – I try to focus on what I can do.

One thing I can do is support local business owners by being more intentional with how & where I spend my money. Honestly, I have struggled with this in the past because purchasing locally was more expensive or not as convenient. Now that the world has turned upside down, I feel convicted. Personal interactions and building relationships are important. Spending a little more money makes me value what I’m purchasing, this is also important.

While I can’t change the past, I can change my actions moving forward. So what does that look like during the COVID-19 Crisis? Well, as I was making plans to shop local for Easter basket goodies, thought I’d share what I found.

Here are a few of my favorites:

10 toys

(#1,4,8) Auburn Pharmacy is offering custom Easter Baskets (even up to college age kids). Check out social media, their online shopping & send any questions their way. Shipping or in-store/drive through pick-up available. (Facebook/Instagram)

(#2,5) Ace Hardware is especially great if you have an outdoor lover at your house. Order online.

(#7,9,10) All Aboard Southern Crossings is another great place to put together your whole Easter basket or nab a few stand-out gifts. Right now the physical store is closed so check Facebook, shop online, and call to order. Curbside pickup or free shipping available.

Codi Plaster
Codi grew up in a college town where she graduated (twice), met her husband, and still lives. When she had 3 kids in 3.5 years, no one was more surprised than her. Fortunately, instead of driving her crazy (although it was a close one), motherhood has brought her into a deeper faith and a daily reliance on the Lord. Her day job has her working with college students that she believe will change the world if they can get off of their phones long enough to get to work. Her husband is an incredible special education teacher and the kids are silly, whiny, funny, and loud which, as it turns out, is the perfect combination of their parents.
